Fake news websites intentionally publish hoaxes and misinformative information to increase website traffic inspired by social media.

The sites deliver news satire – which is filled with comedy – however, they can be misleading and aspire to profit from the gullibility of readers. 

One of the most notable “fake news” cites is InfoWars, a cite that claims millions of people voted illegally in the 2016 presidential election, that the Sandy Hook Elementary School Shooting was a hoax, that the Boston Marathon bombing was fake, and child sex rings occur in pizza restaurants.

For example, yesterday, InfoWars published an inaccurate story about the Obama Administration facing the FBI, DOJ, and FISA warrants. The story can be read here. On the webpage, there is no beginning to the story, but simply a false headline used as click bait to advertise his podcast, Livestream and brand. 

In his latest rant to his 60.1 million Twitter followers, Donald Trump reiterated his fake news mantra below.

 

Bashing legitimate sources like the New York Times, The Washington Post, CNN, and MSNBC will diminish their legitimate reputations while ignoring the satire of up and coming fake news media. 

Avoiding fake news websites is key to informing yourself as a resident of this world. Remaining up-to-date on worldly affairs becomes increasingly hard in an American society thriving off propaganda.
